When a porta potty is honestly fine.

We'll say it even though we rent the other thing: sometimes a porta potty is the right call. A construction site, a casual field bonfire, a kids' sports day where everyone is already in rubber boots. If nobody is dressed up and the budget is tight, a standard unit does the job.

What's the difference between a porta potty and a washroom trailer?

A porta potty is a single plastic stall over a chemical holding tank, with no running water. A washroom trailer is a towable building with private flushing toilets, running-water sinks, mirrors, interior lighting, and heat and air conditioning. The trailer feels like a real washroom, and the porta potty is a place you visit as briefly as possible.

Is a washroom trailer worth it for a wedding near Calgary?

For most weddings, yes. Guests are in dresses and suits for eight or more hours, and the washroom is the one facility every single guest uses. A luxury trailer gives them flushing toilets, warm running water, mirrors, and climate control. Do porta potties work in cold Alberta weather?

Standard porta potties are unheated, so spring and fall events around Calgary can get uncomfortable fast, and cold nights are hard on both guests and the unit. A washroom trailer is heated, and air conditioned for heat waves, so it holds a comfortable temperature through Alberta's swings.

How many guests can it handle?

Three private stalls comfortably cover most weddings and events up to roughly 200 guests. Industry sizing guides put a three-stall trailer at about 150 to 225 guests for a four to six hour event; a long reception or an open bar pushes that down.
